Why I founded ‘Black Women To Watch’
As far back as I can remember, my life has been defined by spaces of community. From Girl Scouts to Sorority life and everything in between, I’ve found inspiration from incredible, strong women who are breaking barriers.
But over the last few years, I have become increasingly frustrated by the lack of inspirational content highlighting Black women throughout industries. Time and time again, we see platforms highlight the same (incredibly talented and inspirational) Black women at the peak of their careers. And while that’s great, what about the next generation of Black female leaders?!
Assuming I was not alone in my quest for this content, I decided to create Black Women To Watch, a space that celebrates Black women who are accelerating their way to the top. Utilizing my resources and passion for driving gender and racial parity, I partnered with a powerful team of Black creators to build this recognition platform that captures their stories and pathways to success through on our podcast.
Our mission is simple: Created for Black Women. By Black Women. To highlight Black Women.
So as I sit here on my birthday, I’m proud to introduce to my family and friends, a little project that I’ve been working on for the last year. I hope to bring light to some incredible women who are quite literally innovating, creating and inspiring who are far too often overlooked.
I’m officially launching this platform next Monday to celebrate Black women who are power rising through the ranks in every industry — from tech to beauty to medicine and everything in between. That’s why I need your help.
